MariAnn Borgen, Care Coordinator

MariAnn is dedicated in working with children to overcome barriers surrounding their mental health and find love and support through every area of their life. As a Care Coordinator, she wraps the family in community services to improve their overall health. She received her Bachelor’s degree from Buena Vista University and her Early Childhood degree from Iowa Central Community College. MariAnn has been working with children and families since 2002 and she joined Team YESS in January 2017.

   

 

Pam Brown, Care Coordinator

Pam works to empower children and families to overcome their challenges and have healthy and productive lives. As a Care Coordinator, she coordinates community services so kids can improve their mental, physical, and social health. She received her Bachelor’s degree from Grand View University in General Social Sciences. She has been working with kids and families for the past 15 years. She has been a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) for 10 years and continues to advocate for kids involved in the juvenile justice system. She joined Team YESS in April 2018.

 

 

Omeka Elder, Family Peer Support Specialist

Omeka is passionate about helping children and their families live a healthy life using a holistic approach to mental health.  As a Family Peer Support Specialist she assist parents in navigating through the challenges of daily life. Omeka attends school meetings, court hearings, is a resource, and an advocate for families during their most difficult times. She has experience in trauma informed care, behavioral health, and working with children who have depression, ADHD, ODD, and other mental health illnesses. Omeka joined Team YESS in 2018 and served in a variety of roles before transitioning to ICC. 

 

 
 

Jenny Miller, Child Mental Health Waiver Team Lead

Jenny’s approach to working with families is to empower them to make positive changes in their lives in order to achieve long term success and independence. As the CMH Team Lead, she has knowledge of the state and MCO rules and regulations for the Children’s Mental Health waiver. Jenny received her Bachelor’s degree from Eastern Illinois University in Family Services, with a minor in Psychology. Jenny worked for 10 years as a Child & Family Team facilitator and supervisor in the state of Arizona before moving to Iowa 5 years ago. She joined Team YESS in December 2015.

 

  

 

Paula Reszel, Child Mental Health Waiver Care Coordinator

Paula enjoys working with families to help them feel empowered to advocate for their family. Paula likes to share her knowledge around Individual Education Plans so parents can advocate for their child and help them achieve their goals in school. As a Care Coordinator, she coordinates community services and assesses children for the Child Mental Health waiver so kids can be successful and remain in their community and home. Paula received her Bachelor’s Degree from Grand View University in Psychology. Paula has worked with kids for the past 13 years and joined Team YESS in June of 2014.

   

 Lela Scott, Team Lead

Lela believes every child should have access to healthy, supportive relationships. As a Team Lead, Lela supports staff to ensure clients and families are receiving the best services possible. Lela received her Bachelor's in Psychology at Creighton University. Lela has been serving children and working with families for 13 years. Lela joined Team YESS in June of 2012. Lela loves to read, dance and spend time with family.

 

   

 

 

Lacy Tharp, Care Coordinator

Lacy has a desire to help children and families and observe them succeed at their own pace and on their own terms.  As a Care Coordinator, she coordinates services and makes referrals so kids can improve their mental, physical and social health.  Lacy received her Bachelor’s degree from Grand View University in Human Services.  She has been working with children and families for the past 14 years and joined Team YESS in August 2016 for the second time.
